Apr 11, 2011 My HDV Sony Camcorder(HVR-A1U) is no longer recognized by Final Cut Pro 6, nor does it show up under Firewire in the System Profiler window of my Mac Pro. It worked up until yesterday, although I had to try different hook-up strategies (disconnecting, rebooting connecting, etc.) on the last day to get it to work. But, Premiere disappointed. I'm using a Sony HVR-Z1U, attempting to capture a 1080i60 HDV tape. I set up the project, selecting HDV as my capture type. I got the Capture window open, and have machine control. But that's where it gets, uh, funky. I can control the camcorder.but the capture window is black.
well in FCP 6, I check the easy setup settings to match my footage, in your case HDV 1080 60i, pay attention if it is 16:9 or 4:3, then check capture setting in the log and capture setting to match your interface, the deck should be in VCR output = auto, the iLink Conv On or Off shouldn't matter (since you are using auto output), try without Edge crop Covert. I have use this deck, and at first it took me a little time but it works. i'm just guessing here but maybe the problem resides in the anamorphic settings (16:9 or 4:3). As a final tip, try to keep the settings simple, don't change anything that you don't need to. The more settings you change the longer is going to take you to make it right.
hope this helped you a little bit CA Sony Hvr Z1
